Default guys....need help picking up a used TEG

I had my car stolen, and well I was going to get a new 350z...then i found out its having tranny problems, then I decided i was going to go with a EVO...ehhh great car, but it doesn't fit me....so I then decided that i'd just stick with honda and get the DC5....I just don't like the RSX....so NOW>>>>>I'll just stick with a TEG again

What should I look for in a used TEG to know that it's not going to be a lemon. Last TEG I checked out this is what I did.

1. See if doors shut tight. which it didn't
2. Look for rear bumper damage. Since its polyurethane body shops can just heat it up again and bend them back. Well the car was showing some crinkling in the paint..
3. Looked for bolts on fenders being tampered with...since that's a tell all sign of a accident.

WHAT ELSE. Compression/Leak Down Test at the gas station and what's the best way to check the tranny? WHAT ELSE?
