Default Car overheating after A/C is on

Ok I just got my AC in the car yesterday, and I have 2 issues.
First the AC isnt as cold as Id hoped it would be, I only put 2 12oz r134 cans in an a 4oz oil can, should I have done more ?
Second when I got home the coolant was boiling in my overflow, I turned the heater on and cooled the engine down, but I had the AC on the whole way home, why would this happen? I just replaced the thermostat and it was running fine till I started using the AC. One thing I noticed is the AC line that is to the right of the engine (high pressure nossle) that loops from the compressor back into itself was piping hot, is this normal ??
Any help would be awesome.

Make sure your AC fan kicks on when the compressor does.

Ok, when I turn the car on and idle it the small fan (drivers side) is running, then I hit the AC button and the bigger one on the other side doesnt start, is that what you are talking about ? Should that one be running ?

Not enough R-134? (There's usually a PSI rating that you need to have in the system. You didn't mention if you'd checked that or not.)
Leak (things leak sometimes even when they're new) in a part of the system?

Ok now the engine is acting weird, instead of having a constant temperature, it bounces from above midway on the temp guage to below midway, it doesnt get all the way hot, but it still bounces constantly, could there be a non related issue thats causing this ?

I dont have a clue how much r134 is supposed to be in the system, I dont have the original owners manual, and the haynes manual sucks, does anyone have this information ?
