Well I ran my CRX at the strip the other day. It was impressive yet depressing all at the same time. Here's the setup. B16 w/ B16B pistons, and cams, JDM ITR header, Crower springs and retainers, B17A intake ported and polished, Z-10 kit, and Sumitomo HTR-Z 205-50/15's. I ran a 14.674 with a 2.4sec 60ft @ 98mph. Obviously traction is a big problem. Oh yeah I had a .507 reaction time. Anyway what is recomended to get my car to run faster with the current setup? I was just running standard 35psi tire pressure, what psi should I run? What kind of tires would be recomended for a 15" wheel with decent tread life? I can't run any smaller rim because I have prelude vtec rotors. Thanks in advance.
Upgrade the clutch and try a 205/50-15 tire. It should drop the time a bit.
My setup (b16a w/ I-H-E) is a Exedy Single Plate Organic clutch with Toyo Proxes FZ4 205/50-15..it hooks up pretty well.
What RPM were you launching at?

I allready posted my tire and size it is a 205-50/15 Sumitomo HTR-Z. I have launched anywhere frome 2500 to 3500. I beleive the time I made the times I posted it was a 3200rpm lauch slipping it out a little bit, power shifting into third and holding third out to 9000rpm at the 1/4mile mark. I didn't power shift 2nd it spins too hard allready when I shift into 2nd.
Sounds a lot like mine... 14.416 @ 97.5mph, 2.35s 60' time.
How are you launching? On streets I run 22psi on 195/60R14 tires. I do a *small* chirp of the tires to clear any rocks/goo off, then launch between 3 and 3.5k, part-throttle, dumping the clutch. Some wheelspin is acceptable; no wheelspin is bad; too much wheelspin is bad. I usually get 3-4 revolutions of the tires in 1st. I don't hit the gas until the car hooks up - ideally you hit the gas at the exact moment it hooks. I never, ever powershift my car - I don't believe in it.
If you could post your 1/8th mile ET and mph we could figure out better where you're losing time. My guess is that you're spinning too much at the start but your MPH isn't reflecting it that much... I'd expect a higher MPH with your setup (I occasionally pull 98mph slips as well, but I'm at sea level).
BTW I ran a 14.6 both before and after upgrading from a stock clutch to an ACT HD clutch and lightened flywheel, so I don't think your clutch is a problem.

The 1/8was 9.708@ 76mph Thanks for the info about the clutch. Oh yeah you should try power shifting third, it gets .2 off my times. Just a thought.
