Default i just bought a new crx today.

it is a 86 dx. its red and grey with 109k miles on the body. sunroof, black interior. very little rust on it. new paint on the top with a si front bumper spoiler.

Now here is the fun part.

89 Integra engine, tranny, brakes on all four corners. and brake master cylinder as well as the integra exhaust.

on the engine he made it carbed by putting duel mikuini carbs which have 2 34mm intakes on both. it also has a custom intake that connects to the carbs. it also has kyb gr2's in the back along with new dunlop d60/a2 185/60/14 all the way around.

the only thing this car needs really is new rings for the pistons, its smoking a bit, and a new choke cable for the inside of the car. i got this bad boy for 750 bucks and it came wiht a new jvc cd player. so now im thinking instead of rebuilding the engine go zc engine/tranny and make the car into a pgmfi car.

i will post pics as soon as i drive the car home and take em with the digi camera.

yeah hopefully its in the 14's like my friends 87 hf with a 87 teg engine in it converted to pgmfi. he beat a crx with a gsr engine in it that does 14.5 in the 1/4 so im thinking im pretty close to him especially with the duel carbs with the CAI and integra exhaust.

I just bought one as well for 600 bucks, It had an optima battery and new timing belt, alternator belt, plugs and wires. Looks like it was maintained pretty well but the damn thing is burning a lot of oil, the piston rings are gone, Im in the process of getting down to the block to replace them with a total Seal set.

This is a post by 94EG over at Endyn's BBS concerning gapless piston rings:

http://ferrari.colowatch.com/php/sho...ear&Main=22118

I wouldn't really think about using total seal rings on a street car. The fact that the bottom ring is completely sealed, means that the top ring is pretty much useless. This means that all the sealing duty falls on the sealed ring, witch in turn puts all the pressure on the bottom ring land. They can blow pretty easily. This isn't a big problem with drag cars, cause the motors are torn down all the time anyways.

You will gain a little power because there is no pressure from the top ring on the cylinder wall. Try the factory rings or the endyn ones, but I would stay away from gapless rings (strip only)
