Recovering door panels with red stretchy fabric? need ideas
Hey guys, I got some red stretchy fabric to recover my door panels with (just the little armrest piece) and took the panel off the otehr day. That stuff's all plastic melted together in the back! No screws to hold it together, they just melted it right together! Soooo, how do I reconnect all that stuff once it's been pulled apart and recovered? I thought about/ was advised to use small screws and big washers to screw it back together with the big washers holding/supporting. any thoughts? I need interior ideas too!!
Hmm, that's a good idea too. Silicone would work? Like the caulk? That'll hold that together? Hey, what about Liquid nails?
A few people have done this mod and posted pics on H-T before, and I seem to remember them using small screws to reconnect the panels.
Here's a thread I found: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=464555
LOL! That's sweet. that's my bud Lance. He's the one that told me to use screws. LOL maybe I'll just use 'em. Thanks guys!!!
I'll take pics and let ya know how it turns out.

That does look good. I know another method I have seen is I know a guy with a 97-01 prelude and he just cut the fabric the right size and pressed it firmly over the are he wanted it to cover while leaving the stock fabric on and then used a credit card to tuck the outer edges of the red fabric into the same crevasis (sp) that the stock fabric goes into. Its a daily driver car so I guess its pretty firm and won't just come off when you put your arm on it or something. You could use spray glue under the red fabric to attach it to the stock fabric if you want before you tuck the edges just to make sure it dosn't ever move or something.

Well, i did the rip-the-door-apart method and reattached it with screws. The best thing about this is it's completely un-doable. I only glued it on the back so if I don't like it or whatever it can just be ripped off. No permanent marks left anywhere. Here are some pics:
Let me know whatcha think!
My next idea is to do the center of the CRX seats in the same material. Anyone done this?

Came out pretty nice!! I should have thought of that rather than buying the real deal
. I used screws for mine as well!! Seemed to work screwed a little to tight on one and left a little white mark on the panel.

Huh that's funny? Must be a thinner mounting point than the others?
Anyway, I'm about 2.5 hrs south of you in the Elmira/Corning area.
Oh, thanks BTW!
