Supercharger or Turbo
Supercharge is cheaper
but Turbo will gain you real power!! You will love it!
and if you want to keep the car for many many years, then don't install either of them, they will kill your engine life in the long run

I work on a turbocharged BMW that has 208,000 miles on it right now and it was orignally turbocharged back in 1986 at about 20,000 miles! The engine is original and has never had to be apart, except to change the timing chain which would be considered normal maintenance. The owner uses only synthetic oil and changes it every 3000 miles. He drives the car pretty damn hard too. The secret to long engine life on a supercharged or turbocharged car is proper tuning. If the fuel mixture is too lean or even when too rich it will adversly effect to life of the engine. The engine can not be allowed to detonate ever so the use of an aftermarket knock control system is essential if it is not equipped with one from the factory.
doesnt matter how much "boost" you have if you cant get it to the ground
fwd = traction limited so a fwd 400HP monster just isnt gonna put it down - so it looks cool on a dyno sheet but real world says other wise!!

i was under the impresion that a super charger gets full boost in upper rpm do to the fact that it is driven by a pulley thats why I thought every on purfers turbos, that and turbos make power for free. (im not trying to start a fight I am honestly trying to find out.

How are you going to compare a roots type superchercharger to a turbocharger. Apples to oranges my friend.
You see, it is all about the area under the curve. Thats JRSC privides INSTANT boost while the turbo doesnt. You will see approximately the SAME numbers in 1/4 mile times with either. The turbo just provides nice peak numbers while the supercharger will provide all around better numbers over the ENTIRE curve. By posting what you just did, I can see you know nothing about SC or TC.</TD></TR></TABLE>
Dude if only you had a clue what you were talking about...

http://www.jacksonracing.com/p....html The supercharger for jackson racing put down these numbers, and if you want the cybernation turbo dyno's do a search and they will be easy to find.
The JRSC coming out, is a fourth gen.charger. The new unit is a Eaton 62...The unit it self as well as the manifold were r&d by Oscar Jackson(and his homies)using eaton bearings and blades...eaton builds the final units(if i have it right) and the damn thing is very clean w/ only 4.8 psi in base form, it is very fast and steetable. This unit put together w/ the Hondata ecu up grade, have untapped some of the most streetable well put together applications done todate!
I personally have a turbo car(so what!), and will have one of the first kits for the k20 and think some people have TMI(*) and BAD MOUTHS and should really try talking to people as if they are staring you in the face.
who cares....
I'm a big dude and i don't like renting space in my head for jerks like you, but if i was in your presence, i would thump you a few times for everyone on this board as far as the ladies present, have a little class(if possible) and respect, if that isn't asking to much!
....m.
* to much information...
P.S. in the movie Bambie, Thumper says "if you can't say anything nice...don't say anything at all"

A buddy of mine is in good with the guys at ATI (Procharger). He told me that ATI is going to unveil a fully intercooled centrifugal supercharger late this summer. It is supposed to be way better than the Jackson or Vortech blowers. He said the bad thing about the "new" civics is that they dont have a fuel return line or something like that which prevents you from adjusting the fuel pressure. Is that true? Do you have to run a separate fuel line?

yep, the fuel pump, regulator, return line and fuel level sensor are built into one unit in the tank.
