I'd like to know to. I looked in my manual and the book said to preform a test. I think it was to pinch the line leading to the PCV with pliars and if you hear a certain noise then something (good or bad) don't remember what it was tough.

weird i just read about this last nite in the helms, you pinch the hose and if you hear a clicking sound then its good, i guess teh clickin is the ball in the valve making and breaking the seal

Yep that exactly how it diagnostics works, just the words I was looking for. I did the test and I didn't hear any clicking.

you probably won't notice anything if the PCV valve goes bad. But the above is the correct way to check for it. But if you really want to, just replace it. The part is only like a dollar from any automotive place.
