Default What do shops usually charge for cam installs?

What do they usually charge for cam , cam gear, retainers and springs and stuff to install them .

im asking becuase someone asked me how much we would charge him to do the head work . i was gonna tell him like $500 or so , but wanted to make sure that was a fair price for the both of us.

I usually charge $400 or so.

na i dont need no sticking cams, and if so ill do em myself.
im gonna stay with stock head though

the build up will be about 2-*3weeks.

thats becuase Petes not in a hurry becuase he still has all 4 pistons in tact in his block . . . . you cna i use one of your melted pistons as a reminder of vafc hack , ill show that to my custs when they come over and want to do bootleg fuel managment lol , you know i gotta bust your *****

just estimate your time and charge 75 dollars per hour based on that. If its a side job i would just charge him 45-50 dollars per hour.

Hell ya I'll give ya 2. I am going to make them a centerpiece. It like abstract art son! Especially with 2 bent rods as well

I charge $400 with valvetrain installed while on the car ... and I add a caveat of extra $200 insurance customer has to pay if a keyway falls into motor and head has to come off ... been like 10 for 10 now kncok on wood with doing them carfully while on the car but still let them know about the extra $200 in case ...

no deal , ill just melt mine for free. thos spoon socks are worth more thna melted itr pistons
