need some help
i got a 91 hatch yesterday and i have a few problems with it.
first it smokes some... but only every so often... not all the time. its odd. ive never had a car do this
second.. it throws a code, but only after being on for about 10 minutes. but the car doesnt run any different.

Obviously, when cold, there may be more 'smoke' from the exhaust than when the engine is warm.
As for the code... pull back the upper part of the carpet in the passenger side footwell up where the toes would be. You'll see the ECU. Turn the ignition to ON and count the flashes in the round window. Post back with the results.

i tried driving it a few more times for the check engine light to come back on and nothing 
will it come on with the key only if its not on except like 5 minutes of driving?
