I was in the same position as you and I thought that the Diehard battery was the best. It turned out though that it wasnt that good from the people I asked. So I bought the Duralast, which I must say, is probably the best standard battery you can buy. It won several awards and to top that all off its original equipment on all Hummers

I like AC Delco, just cause Honda includes it in some of their cars and because it was rated best battery a couple of years ago.

i had an ac delco and it did it's job. if you don't have a massive system then any battery will most likely get the job done. if you have money to spend, then i would recommend a reactor power cell battery. you can order one from summit and it's lighter than the stock battery, fits in the stock location, and delivers over 800cca. i'm using one and no complaints

Yup, I was about to rcommend the Optima. It's supposed to be the BEST there is. It's a bit pricey, but if you plan on keeping your car for a long long time, get it. Comes with a lifetime warranty

SVR12-50, I think. It's designed for 92 and up civics (and Integras) and drops right in. It's a gel type deep cycle battery which can also hold more current. It's definitely has more cold cranking amps than the stock battery. Even when if you con't have a large current sucking audiosystem or extra lights or HIDs, the car will probably turn over during the winter (if it's cold where you live). Not if mention you accidentially left your dome light for a couple of days, your alarm would probably still work. They go for like$139 or so.

The Optima Yellow Tops will not drop right in. They're huge and would require some triming of the casing. I'm 99.8% sure, but someone correct me if I'm wrong....

The optima yellow is the one that I am looking into as well... from my research, it is the best battery out there, price not being a consideration. My car has alot of electronics and lights to run and this is the one I am going for, as soon as I get back from vacation... I'd be interested to know if they fit in the teg w/o modification !

My stock Acura battery on the 1996 GSR is still going strong, the car is 5 years old now, used pretty much every day, I am curious when it will die on me.

The Canadian Tire (local automotive supply chain store) batteries I bought before usually only last a couple of years.

I am inclined to stay with Acura battery myself as it has two full years of exchange (ie not pro-rated) warranty.

I have an optima yellow top in my Integra and I love it. There is an ultralight battery out there but the name slips my mind

Hey Teken, do you mean marine or military spec... You just mainly are trying to suggest deep discharge spiral batteries right?

Whatever battery you buy check out the ColdCranking Amps get the largest CCA you can get.
Some manufacturers over rate their CCA...so, a good way to compare is by the weight. If the battery is super heavy and beefier than another with the same CCA..you know the heavier one is better.

how about a quick one that would clarify things for everyone...

does anyone know of a yellow top or red top battery, or equivalent, that will drop in a G3 integra? Does anyone with a G3 integra have a kick *** battery that they would brag about? I haven't had any problems with my acura battery yet, but there is nothing sexy and gleaming about the oem battery when you pop your hood.

thanks

The main reason why you would want one of those batteries is if you have a stereo system that warrants such a battery.

And if you have that nice of a system, you aren't worried about weight as it is, so a heavy battery won't matter.
