who runs cam gears on a boosted car

Default who runs cam gears on a boosted car

is it realy needed when runnung a supercharger to have adjustable cams gears. i have a set of AEM's but i put the stock ones back on till it's tunned. but do you need to adjust the cams when running a boosted aplication?

I run stock cam gears and have no problems at all.

cam gears, are good to dial out the overlap.. producing smoother tq lines.. and whatnot

Before my power curve was up and down. After the curve was tuned with cam gears it was smooth. IMO if your gonna have your car tuned might as well have these to help overlapping.

ok so i should keep them. but i also have a problem of the hitting the inner t/b cover anyone have that happen? thats why i put the stock ones back on.

You don't need camgears unless your raising or lowering your compression since timing would be thrown off.

That's not entirely true. What kind of engine are you talking about? I have an ITR and lots of guys use cam gears to dial out the overlap. Some even use GSR cams because they have less overlap. Overlap is not related to compression ratio.
