When putting on the air bypass valve on your aem cai........
isnt the cai supposed to be in two pieces, and you can connect them with the cai or a rubber connector? mine only came in one piece. the reason i am asking this is because i live in florida and theres about 3 feet of water outside my front door. i dont usually use this piece of crap, but i wanna put it on for safety measures.
You have to cut the pipe and place the bypass where you want it.... a hacksaw and a file to clean up the edges works nicely... I personally didn't get one with mine, but i've installed some on other cars.
i bought one with my cai for safetys sake, but after being on honda-tech i wish i wouldn't. i realized that they aren't really needed, for a prelude the filter sits high enough that you can get away with it. but the civics, integras their filter is lower.
if you want it for a peace of mind, do it. but IMO its not neccesary.

the bypass valve is stupid. It only will open if the filter gets completely submerged. If your filter gets splashed or sprayed, the only thing the bypass valve will do is get a little wet as the water goes past it into your engine.
Keep the splash sheild in the fender, and you'll be ok.
