Generic to AEM CAI???
Hey guys, I have an option to get an AEM CAI and replace it with the Generic one i have on my H22. My question is, is it worth it at all to spend the extra money? I don't care about the bling factor at all, but how much more power (if any) could i expect to get from an AEM CAI if i decide to get one?
thanks
thanks
they are probably the same thing...i say get a nice cheap *** tube...and then get a good filter....youll save some cash...now you have some to spare to give to me
yah i have a basic cheap tube right now, and i'm thinkin of throwing a k&n filter on it. but i've also heard that AEM CAI's are ceramic coated or some **** and they're better at resisting heat so u get colder denser air coming in. i couldn't care less about the by-pass valve since u'd have to drive into the ocean for it to help u out.

no I dont have stocks in aem im just tryin to help you out
Ok............ First of all you will notice a slight increase in gas consumption, second you will notice a lot harder pull in the low end from a stop to about 4k rpm.
Above 4k all the way through vtec it gets loud as hell and the car pulls way harder.

no i haven't answered my own question because i've obviously experienced an increase in power, but i still don't know if its a good decision to upgrade to AEM because i dont' know if it'll give me BETTER results than i've gotten with my generic CAI
i don't even know why u posted in this thread in the first place, ur replies are all irrelevent and i don't even think u take the time u read the questions. if u can't answer the question, or don't have anything intellegent to add then don't post.......don't post just for the sake of posting
How are his reply irrelevent

you said that you allready felt a differents with you generic CAI. I would stay with that because I doubt you would see allot of a differents with the AEM. The AEM would only yield a few extra HP.

I say just stick with the tubing you have now and buy a K&N filter to put on it. If you want to keep the tubing heat resistan, just spray paint it with high temp. engine paint. Thats what I did, and the tubing never got real hot after running my motor for awhile....
stay generic.. waste the money burning a hole in yur pocket on seomthign esle... the difference, if any will not be worth the amount of cash your going to end up spending... look into replacing something esle with that money... You said bling fatcor isnt a big issue... So, dont waste money on the name and bling factor...
