ls/vtec motor or 97 prelude motor which is better
Hi guys My friend has a ls/vtec motor in his 91 gsr but he think that the 97 prelude will still be able to beat him. I know that the lude comes 200hp stock but the ls/vtec is said to have about 220 hp. what do you guys think.
my friend had an ls/vtec in a his 92 teg.. just to let u know it made 198whp but it was built... 10:5:1 SRP pistons, stage 2 cams, hondata....etc etc... he ran low 14's w it I suspect he coulda hit 13's on slicks although he never tried.. He's since rebuilt it for turbo and now runs about 400+ at the wheels..
A stock built ls vtec would prob put of about the same as a stock gsr w maybe a little more tq... Two ways of doing it.. b16 head or b18..

Why did he put an LS/VTEC in his GSR? The GSR is a much better motor IMO and I heard that there are quite a few probs. with LS motors with VTEC heads.

I don't think they made 91 GSRs here in the US, i think the earliest GSR model was 92.
