Which is why I asked the question, I thought that the all ITR motors had VTEC.

The Apex-i exhausts are the same application for the Integra LS (non-VTEC) and Type R. I had an Apex N1 exhaust on my R for a few months and the part number was the same as the LS.

And by the way, the VTEC system has nothing to do with the exhaust, and YES, the 97-98 Type R uses a VTEC motor. So please don't embarass yourself by saying that again.

it seems to me that you are claiming the 97-98 Type R's as non VTEC. IT is in the title of the post.

All type R's have vtec.

maybe you meant vtech. No type R has this phone equipped in their car.

It was the question I always knew that ITR's had VTEC; I read what seemed to me that in 97-98 they made R's with no VTEC, which, totally contradicted my idea. I put this post up to reassure my knowledge or to find out something new about ITR's. It is not that I do not KNOW Type-R's it is little things like this that make me wonder...that is why I ask questions and "embarrass" myself, and besides I think it is better to ask and know than later make a giant *** out of oneself.

Dude, You are reading it wrong...that's all Numerous Websites lay out their pricing like this. It's just saying NON-VTEC for regular Integras OR Type-R's.

That's WAY too harsh a thing to say. THe purpose of this board it for people to learn and ask questions. If there was a doubt in this person's mind, he/she should ask. And people that know the answer should answer. Instead, you rudely comment on embarassing himself.

N-1 162-KH04 Integra Non-VTEC 94-99/[I]Type R 97-
all this statement is saying is that any NON-VTEC (ie. LS/GS/SPECIAL EDITION dc2 integra with a B18B) and type-r integras (B18C5) use this part number, EXCLUDING GSR (B18C). reason being is that the gsr is of a differnet b-pipe length.

that's all.
