paint before selling yes or no?
My car has some seriously fading paint, minor dings etc. I am curious if it is worth getting it painted before I try to sell it. I have a B16 crx and some minor suspension work (springs & shocks) done to it. The ONLY thing it needs is paint, but I've gotten quotes of over 1000 for a decent paint job including sanding, ding repair etc Will I lose money on it if I don't get it painted or is painting it going to be a waste of money?
If you live in California, and had everything legit and smog legal on the car... then getting it painted should increase the selling price since it will look pretty, but if you have some body mods to it and it looks tacky already, painting will do nothing.
But if you are in another state, CRX's seem to go for a dime a dozen. Wish I can go buy a car from another state and drive it back, but I am too lazy. I could save a lot of money.

get a buffer, some paint renew stuff from checker and a lot of time and make it as decent as posible then sell it. dpending on paint most ppl will want a good looking decent car instead of a faded ok looking car when there rolling around
Thanks for all the suggestions, I really don't think there's much that will help my paint right now though, half the clear coat on the hood and roof is already peeled off. I'm thinking if I try to buff it, the bare metal will start to show in several areas. I guess I will just try to sell it as is, whoever buys it will know they need to invest in a paint job though. I love the car but I'm tired of revving the sucker to 8 grand to get it to really go - it's fun but it loses its appeal after 20k miles. Single front wheel burnouts suck too. I need a rwd car again
