I paid 700 for my LS. It was at a junkyard on the bottom of a pile of b16's. My friends bought the B16's and I got the LS. I know its JDM too.... anyone know the difference from USDM or are they the same?
Anyway..Its brand new... I mean literally! its stamped 99 and I got this engine in March 2000. I'm guessing it has less then 1K miles on it! The motor oil is still gold in color... I swear the owner must have crashed it coming out of the dealership or something. I already had a b16 but for some reason I couldnt pass up what I thought was a great deal at the time. I'm currently building a LS/VTEC so I have no use for this LS. Its been over a year now and I have no idea what i should do with it...I was thinking keeping it as an extra motor in case I blow my LS/VTEC ..but any other suggestions? http://hometown.aol.com/slapusilly24...age/index.html

FYI they never made an LS motor for Japan. It was US and Canada only. Not sure about Europe. In Japan the Integras only got the B16A, or the B18C. 92-93 XSI got the B17A i think. So if you got an LS, its from the US. So if you got it for $700 with trans, thats a hell of a deal.

Just keep it, or if your broke sell it.

B17A1 was a strickly american motor, there was nenver a JDM B17. A B17 is just the B16 stroked out alittle. 92-93 USMD gs-R got the B17. X/RSi got a B16. Just thought i'd interject that.

At a local shop that imports jdm engines/parts they have a couple of B18Bs. The engine code just says B18B not B18B1 like the north american version.

 

yes there is a b18b in japan, it came on two or three different cars...
