CRVTEC with a GSR head BUT rather than a GSR tranny, use a b16 tranny with a Type R final drive

to do the CRVTEC RIGHT you have to do a lot of things that'll make the cost nearly double of the B18 straight swap.

CRVTEC would be cool, but with the price it cost to do everything right, you could put a T3/T4 with Drag manifold and custom piping for that price. THen you have a fast car.

most ppl will tell u get the b18c1 just because its out from the factory.
If u know someone that can make the Crvtec reliable then go with that.
it'll give u more hp not to mention torque

do a zc or mini me. harady har har. screw that ****. But seriouslly if you have never done a ls/vtec /crvtec you shoul just get a b18c you can buy a b18c5 with the money you will spend just making the crv run right with no hp mods.

go with B18C1 (gsr) motor. You can stroke the bottom end if you want more torque.

I think a B20vtec is much better than a B18C1. Having had both, i will never go back to just straight B18C1. Figure cost this way, Complete GSR engine swap is around $3400. Complete B16A engine swap is around $2400. With that $1000 you save with the B16A, you could get a JDM B20 longblock (which would be newer 96+, i actually sell them for 1K), then all you have to do is have the conversion done on the B16A. Also you will have an extra B16A block, and an extra B20 head. You could sell both to help pay for the conversion. With only spending a little more, you now have a 2.0liter B16A motor.

We just finished a B20vtec setup on a 2000 GSR, and he loves it. It has lots more torque than the GSR motor. He previously dynoed around 197whp, and we will be dynoing next week, and are expecting around 210whp. Plus 10-15lbs more torque.

So now he has an extra GSR block which he could easily sell to pay for the B20 longblock he got, plus some of the conversion.

BTW i have the B20vtec in my daily driven teg. I've had it for almost a year, driving 75+ miles a day during the week, with never having a problem at all. I highly recommend it.

BTW, no one really strokes motors that much anymore. Most resleeve, and run larger pistons. Mainly due to reliability. Also i recently just finished my B18C1 block, and no its not a 1.8, and no i did not stroke it. You can keep the B18C1 block, but to keep up with the B20's torque, you better make it bigger.

Got to go with the Dragon Man on this one. Besides what is the torque on an LS like 127lb??? What is the torque on the LS/VTEC???? Torque on a Type R is...130lb...Hmmm and 128 on the GSR... So why do people always say the LS has more torque???
