GSR vs CR-Vtec
which would be better for an EX coupe '98? I'm thinking both will cost about the same. GSR complete swap vs. B20 block, B16 head , B16 tranny plus everything to make it work right. Which one would you choose? daily driver and the occasional roadracing trackday.
Thanks

Personally...with my funds....I'd just go straight gsr. Easy swap and good power. I think it really depends on what ur goals are and how much $$ you're willing to spend.

Re: GSR vs CR-Vtec (RK)
CRVTEC= more HP/Torque. But more maintainance.
B18C= lower maintainance, better fuel economy.
I'd go B18C.. if its a daily driver. CRVTEC if its a weekend car.

Re: GSR vs CR-Vtec (CRX_VTEC)
thats not true. I get 250 full tank on my crvtec and its daily driven. Yes it requires a bit more maintance but not as much just regular check up like if sparks are fine, make sure there coolant, Oil check etc.. But thats not tuff maintance. Overall i'll go crvtec its more pricy but the power it produce just amazing

Re: GSR vs CR-Vtec (SiBirdie)
i was referring to a built (high comression) CRVTEC. No way a built CRVTEC will get same gas milage as B18C. Yet at the same time.. if you dont build it.. how much more/less HP will ir be compared to a B18C.?? Get where I'm comin from..

Re: GSR vs CR-Vtec (SiBirdie)
I dunno how u get 250 even.. On my internally stock gsr I get no more than 225 to a tank and that's if I don't go out to race on the wknd.. Now with the turbo and 310cc injectors, 180 is a fkn feat.. (well I'm still in my honeymoon phase)
With the built b20vtec setups I've seen, I'd be surprised if they got 150 to a tank.. Again it's all based on the setup tho..

???
Why are you referring to a built (high compression) CRVTEC when its not the topic at hand? and yet, "if you don't build it", IT WON'T RUN AT ALL...
the CRVTEC referred to in THIS topic will have similar gas mileage to a GSR and will be more powerful, especially if he is running the B16 tranny.

The last time I pulled out a motor (immortal's - last week), $10k is going into the motor/turbo setup.. I guess u can put the setup together and leave the block and head stock, but why? Get a GSR instead if u plan on just putting it in..
