'89 crx springs question
hi all, i recently installed a set of intrax springs on my '89 honda crx si.there the sport 2.5" drop springs.the front looks great with no fender gap.the problem is the rear.i can still put my hand between the tire and the fender.is this normal or did i do something wrong?i hate the way the rear looks, even my wife asked me if that was normal(lol).is there something i can do to remedy this?i dont want to have to get coilovers cause i think theres gotta be something i can do to fix this.i did leave everything else on the springs that was stock like the rubber deals on the top of the springs.would that make a difference?id really appreciate the help as i have nobody else to give me any info.thanks alot
to be totally honest w/ you ,i don't know. a friend of mine had done it before and he said i needed to cut them in 1/2. i did and the car sits level. make sure the springs are set in the perch properly. the bumpstops are the hard foam piece that sits on top of the shock. do you remember seeing those?
actually i dont remember seeing those.but ill look for them when i take them out next week.what about the rubber mounts that go on the top of the springs?can i remove those or would that be bad?

ok,thanks.could you recommend some good struts?i have intrax sport springs with the 2.5"drop.i currently have stock struts and it rides bad, very bad.id thought about tokico illuminas.ive been reading that the kyb agx arent good for cars lower than 1.5".thats why i figured id go with the tokicos.
yeah,i just got back from a local shop.i picked up a set of agx's.the guy said they sell more of them and he also said he personally thinks the tokicos are crap.i can kinda agree with that since i had a set of tokico blues and they all leaked out within a couple months.ofcourse these arent the iluminas, but just from that experience id be nervous about buying any of there stuff.
also i already took one of my rear struts off and noticed that i dont have a bump stop.i looked up in my manual and also in the new strut directions.they both show a bump stop.do i need to have one or can i get away with not using one?if i need it where can i get one?thanks

i'm pretty sure you need them, i'd check w/ your local honda dealer. if not find some old struts at a yard. if all else fails you can order them from magestic honda
