Default ATS FD installed

First, I will thank Anton (1GreyTeg) for giving me the ATS FD at the Expo.
Second, I will thank Marc (BlueR) for bringing Willard to his shop Smoto to do the install.

Comments on FD:
It is what everyone has said (the good and bad), but what I didn't expect was that my LSD feels that it now works better. I am not sure if it is because of the more torque (because of the gearing differential, not more power). But, whatever the reason the car feels like it turns better. Maybe, it was a phantom feeling?

Anyway, thanks Anton, Marc and Willard

ALL Good, What Bad?

I don't remember anyone saying anything "Bad" about it? Just a few ***** comments about how the RPM is higher and certain people "Ahem" wouldn't want to deal with that But, that ain't no thang I drove the Expo trip, I just happened to be in Vtec the whole time and need to stop for gas every 15 minutes. Talk to Chris now that he swapped in the GSR 5th... He called me yesterday from the Pro Solo and mentioned breaking yet Another part though.

Be honest, Doesn't the car just feel alot more AWAKE with the Flywheel and Final Drive? And Alot more fun to drive?

Glad you enjoy your new LSD,,, I mean Final Drive.

I do like the FD. I have not done any "extended spirited" driving as of yet, so I cannot fully comment. But, when I drove your car last year with the ATS FD, my butt dyno didn't register anything. I guess I was driving it too slow. The ATS FD really shines in 3rd to 5th gears. Obviously it works in all gears, but feels better when cruising and then you need to accelerate or need to accelerate out of a turn.

I am going to go to Limerock tomorrow and I know of a "spirited driving route". It is a "secret" route that I found two years ago. Some guy in a Porsche showed it to me. This route is like a rally course and it is in the middle of no where. The only drawback is it is one lane, if you get behind a slow car, that is it, all fun is gone. (Unless you stop and pull over and let the slow car get ahead of you a bit )

It's a feel thing Oscar, just like Dave said. The pull in the corners is different and makes you more aware of the LSD. The most difference that remember I noticing recently was at the Expo up both chicanes. I rode with Dave stock as compared to mine, and my car pulled up both hills stronger.

Dave would beat me head to head regardless but, the FD alone gives a noticable difference.

Ask Bryan for his take on it if you like.

Come to an Autocross and you are free to take my car for fun runs and push it a bit. Unlike some though, I actually like being a passenger.

PS I still need to swap in my JDM steering wheel.

from what you said.......I guess the higher FD can somewhat compensate the lack of torque in our B18. Am I right ?

Is that the road going across the Sunoco that we are suppose to turn right? I don't remember much, but I was lost once and some local showed me that road, I remember seeing some cows...? It had lots of up and downs curvey roads, some of that are rough asphalt, I was scared shitless on that road driving fast trying to make registration. If you are going there tomorrow, I want to be the last in the line.

Sounds good David. I would like a more detailed review after a "spirited drive" and some track duties..
Willard was in the NYC area this weekend? I hope you guys took him out and showed him the sights..

The FD is great.

1. On the highway, I can pass EASILY in 5th gear. The acceleration from 65mph to 90mph is very quick (I didn't know I was doing 90mph until I looked down )
2. We did this "rally" road upto Limerock today. The pull out of corners was great. Acceleration and traction (LSD feels better)
