Ok I decided to purchase a turbo set up and I am goign to get a small t3 turbo for fast spool and daily driving. My question is what kind. I have always liked Garrett but what other options do I have. I want to buy it new or reburbished which I see them on ebay for around 300 or so. Also I noticed that some of the turbo's have the pipe/filter coming off the right side(drivers side) and there would be no room for the filter to go. On the drag / rev hard kits I have seen all the pipe/filter go to the left(passenger side) where there is a lot more room. Which turbo would fit my car nice? Also will I have to get a custom downpipe for a t3 turbo w/ internal waste gate or do they make some I can buy. Some pictures of a t3 turbo in a integra would be great. thanks.

 

if you want a small one for daily driving you can get a .48/.42 T3 off of a volvo or saab, they can be had from junkyards for anywhere from $50 to $300. also the side that the compressor goes is really your choice. putting it on the pass side will tuck it more under the manifold and MIGHT have possible clearance issues with the block, while putting it on the drivers side obviously makes removing your a/c manditory and might have clearance issues with the radiator. either way you will have to lose your radiator fan on the drivers side. anyone who makes downpipes can make one for a internally wastegated T3.

 

what would be a step above a turbo of that size. I think I want a little bit bigger? Also will it make a pretty noticable diffrence running 6-8psi on a t3 turbo. I no people hate this question but what numbers should i expect and times in the quater. If people have a similar t3 turbo set up and could inform me that would be great. also what boost keeps it pretty safe but powerful. I am keeping my stock internals.
