Default has anyone here ever tried to make an intake manifold

if you have, how hard was it to do? what do you need to do it? did it make an improvement?

i have seen a few people around here with "home made manifolds" mostly on b series motors though
i am thinking about trying to make one for my h22

i think most "homemade manifolds" are turbo exhuast manifolds, an intake manifold would be difficult to make to and actually GAIN power

I want to make one out of carbon fiber for my car. That's if I have the chance/motivation to next year; I have the chance to work with a lot of the stuff next year and have use of a flow bench too on my school's race team I think it'd be sick.

myserlf and Satan_srv

we were discussing to use my manifold as a template, but i still dont' think that cutting a manifold with approx 100hr of production time/machine work time etc.. is worth destroying to "attempt" to make a carbon fiber mold."

there doesn't seem to be much interest in a single runner manifold for n/a anyways .. and with skunk2 "always promising their manifolds" well i'm not about to take a chance to cut my manifold, to have willing consumers to and buy the skunk2 over mine because it's a "skunk2" unit although mine is better for power production... people have a tendancy to buy the brand name rather than what works best so.. for that sole purpose... i don't think putting a band saw and cutting mine in half is worth it....

maybe things will change but i doubt it.. that and also the fact that i personally grinted, polished, and manufactured my manifold for others to benefit on my expense its really profitable for me...

.....

maybe satan decided to build one by himself ? hasn't been in contact lately so i'm not certain what's up with that ?
