Default ITR calipers on a non ITR

I rember reading that inorder to use ITR calipers on a non ITR teg you need to take 3mm off of the caliper mounts on the hub. now my question is, can i take this 3mm off of the caliper itself or do i have to take it off of the hub?

oh yeah i will be doing this brake conversion to my 91 integra.

As my knowledge lacks about the differences b/w generations I'm not 100% sure that this is what you are supposed to do. But here's the info for 3rd Gens.
