Okay A for effort, but you have got to learn how to use SPDT
(single pole double throw) relays.....once you understand how
they operate the world is your oyster....The olny problem i see
in the design is that you are throwing a large amount of current
which can/may overload the switch...just a thought

How do you see that? The speakers are attached to the car battery. Now is that not the same current that is running to the ignition? The switch is just speaker male and female ends. The wire is 14 gauge so it is more than enough. I took the wire from a trailer real light harness. It will be fine.

to bad my car didnt come with A/C... o well i know how to start yours ill just steal it! just messin, good job, that's pretty cool.
That's cool and all, but why didn't you just use the prongs on the back along with a relay??? Was there a possible problem with going that route?

Lets see...you are using a switch to re-connect a high current
circuit system which may not be duty rated to handle that load.
....but then with well over 10 years of installing what do I know?
Here is a link that may help you out:
If the switch is non working....you could connect one side to ground
and use the other side to connect to that would be an alarm interupt
output. This would provide a much better way to do you circuit.
Good luck

this is a good idea, but poor execution. your method does work, but its not a great way to do it.
what i wouldve done is use a relay in NO (normally open) config and use the a/c wire coming from the ecu as a trigger.

i had the same i idea damn i wouldnt think anyone else would do the same thing... now i gots to change it.. i have some AC buttons for sale... just pm..

still works..

Because I dont have sergical plyers to get into all the small little cracks. This saved hours of time. I tested it out and it works perfectly. There are no problems. I have a bunch more switches (4 in total) that will cover me if anyone who steals my car reads this thread.

I admit its a great idea...I do "ghost switches" all the time.
I was just trying to pass on a little knowledge to help you
grow....just trying to keep you from being stranded by a
circuit that works great now.
Ps This is also a part of your pager circuit you want to create....
I could give you the design step by step, but what fun would that
be...plus its a great way to learn...

That is sort of a ghetto way of doing it if you ask me, unless you have a relay or something than eventually the prongs will bend or something. Seems to me it would be better to utilize the original wires hooked to a relay or some sort.

lol nice description. yeah personally i would have used the existing switch and just triggered a relay. i'm sure that over time that spade connector will get loose and not make reliable contact. nice idea though.

Make sure when you put the switch back in it don't look like you've been messing with it, cause then someone trying to steal you car might see its been messed with an catch on.

When you put the switch back in you cant tell a thing. It is flush and there are no exposed wires or anything.

so, what happens at nigh when the the theif turns on your lights before he steals the car and notices that all your dash lights work except for your ac light?
I like the idea and it's cheap and effective but like some of the others were saying I would as well use the A/C switch to activate a relay that connects the ignition together so when the A/C switch is off you can't start your car but when it's on you can, But still that gave me some good idea and thanx for the new info
