i could be completely mistaken but i think obd1 only has 1 02 sensor, however i had a 98 GSR engine in my EF and i was running 2 02 sensors into the cat...

Correct. My B17A1 only has 1 O2 sensor. This was the Same for a B18C, D16Z6, swap and an H22 swap I've just done. All of these engines were OBD1.

If you use the pre obd (one wire) sensor, you need to weld in a bung closer to the motor so it will stay hot enough to read correctly. The obd1 B18b's o2 is in the front cat flange. I welded in a bung just below the cast iron header in one od the downpipes and it works fine.
