I just put in my skunk2 intake manifold. I don't remember my engine compartment getting so hot. Is it normal for the intake manifold to be very hot to the touch? Mine gets so hot I can barely keep a finger on it.

the intake manifold can get as hot as the engine since its bolted to it. it is normal for it to be very hot to touch, usually its too hot to touch without burning your finger prints off your finger.

 

hehe it's definetly too hot to touch , one day i was tinkering around looking at the Throttle cable, and accidently brushed my hand on the coolant line, jerked my hand to the side and touched the manifold which wasnt much cooler

 

If you plan on keeping the car for a while, it's worth it, otherwise it'll be a waste of money to convert it and then have it's resale value drop.
