Is my starter dying?
Just yesterday, i started to have starting problems... in the morning, i tried to start my car, and it just went click (as if i weren't depressing the clutch), so i tried again, click and again, click and again, click, and then all of a sudden vroom. so i let it run for a while, and shut it off and then it started just fine. then after work, click, click, click, click, vroom!, and it didn't sound like it was even trying to start before, and when it finally started, it sounded just fine, no 'rrr, rrr, rrr, vroom'. So are these typical symptoms of a dying starter? I have a '95, do starters usually die in 6 years? How much do starters cost, and are they relatively easy to replace?
thanks

its not the battery. i no this as a fact because if the starter when click click click, then it would keep doin that until the battery is totally dead. im guessing that your solenoid is getting weak or, jus like in my car, the "thing" that makes the pinion gear turn a little bit when the solenoid tries to push the gear over the flywheel to turn the engine might be goin bad. other words, the gears are hitting eachother and starter wont engage cause the gear isnt all the way out... jus replace your starter, dont get those pep boys or kragen brand starter, i bet it'll go bad in about 2 years. honda oem = the best!

while it may be true that honda is the best, but if you get one from autozone or pep boys they are half the price of honda AND the have a lifetime warranty so if it breaks again no matter how old it is it will be replaced for free!
