Strut Tower Bar Installation??
I just bought a generic brand (polished aluminum) strut bar. Im going to install it my self cause it seems to be pretty straight forward, I was just wondering if there was anything I should know about this install befor I get started.
Is it as simple as just un-doing the 3 screws on the tower and then putting them back?
Thanks

take of the "tower" nuts (3 of them on each side) then put the ebay bar on then screw the nuts (like what you are) back on and torque it down to 22 lb.
why 22lbs ? I got my neuspeed bar used, so i had no instructions. Since it was so damn tight, I had to use the bolts to push it all the way down. I have no idea how tight it is, but I doubt it's ever comin off!
I would jack the front end of the car before putting the bar on; to relieve the stress on the suspension from the car's weight. Isn't that what you're supposed to do?
DO NOT JACK UP YOUR WHEN INSTALLING THE STRUT BAR. If you've ever done a suspension install you might know why. Those 3 nuts are what attaches the strut assembly to the car.

Hey, you know on a sort of related note, when we jacked up my friend's integra to remove the resonator we experienced something funny for about an hour or so afterwards. The passenger side of the car was about 2 inches higher than the driver's side. I guess the springs kind of spread out a bit and didn't want to return to normal.

Installed successfully! And pretty easily too (like 15 mins.)
Thanks for the info though,
Oh, and ya, jacking the car would cause the struts to fall out of their place. Right?

I got a generic one from racerwheel for my 99 type sh and it wouldn't fit. I didn't think I was a complete idiot but just in case I let my mechanic try. He couldn't get it on either. It is just too long. This happen to anyone else?
