Default which forum

which forum do you post if you'd like to have preluders view on their cars (i.e. value) on a non NADA/KBB car? basically a car that you and the seller both know according to miles/condition is worth a much different amount than "list" prices, but maybe can't find an exact dollar agrement.

the for sale forums says posts for sale ONLY bolded, so that's not it. the sale/want/buy trade forum isnt going to work b/c it's not a car that i am selling/wishing to buy (one a friend is, but we are both stumped on whats fair price for it). im sure they are serious in looking, and this isnt an offer they could get, only one i can locally.

(i can't pm anyone else i would have asked there)

Look genious, this is a tech section. Use your common sense, if something is worth X amount of dollars then you will expect to pay X amount of dollars for it. http://www.kellybluebook.com and http://www.edmunds.com both will tell you how much a "mint" condition car is worth.... thus solving your problem. This thread will be locked too, you're just wasting your time posting this up 400 times.

3rd try to respond IBTL

the guy you are buying from may be using the dealers value as the selkling price, they give a definition of why this is more on http://www.kbb.com. use the third party value in mint condition to find the accurate selling price. oh btw if i was a mod you be sitting a t 98% at this point.

theres a technical forum, and a tech section elsewhere, from what i read this was a model specific forum. obviously im new here and trying to find out where to get information. i looked all over the site and it seems that the model specific was the best place? where else should i look then?

ok, i see your other post. it makes no difference whether the car was kept in a garage or in a mall parking lot...the value is the same. i can take my piece of junk 240z worth about 500 bucks to the dealership and say it was kept in a garage the whole life, and i would still get offered 500 bucks. the kbb/nada values are what you need to go by, unless you have a reason in buying this certain one then you add a price for your happiness (or whoever is buying it). other than that, there is no price gain for keeping a car on a deserted island or in a bomb shelter, the mint value is listed on those sites.

i did originally, but didnt want to get this one locked by mentioning the car.... b/c i am just trying to find where to get the information from. the honda-tech.com main site has for sale/and tech forums, i read this was a model specific forum and thought it would go here, was trying to find out where it should go. (i didnt come here to have someone tell me to check nada/kbb when i already did that... i would hope that all of you dont use that as final value on your cars???)

its a 1998 prelude SH, garage kept and has less than 30,000 original (odometer reads 27,987), with the factory warranty included still on the car. i was under the impression those "rule of thumb" sites can't take into the real value of the car, as the guy was asking a lot more than what was booked online for.

edit 2: so those "mint" value prices include value of factory warranty in them?

posts edit: i cant post a new post, so editting to thank you for the clarifications. i really was lost and honestly thought after reading the main site this was the only place to post it. didn't expect such an outrage. there's not a lot of other places to look in regards to preludes now that hondaprelude is gone and the other charges to post. thanks again.

the website does take into account the fact that the car is mint and still retains warranty etc. the guy is probably using dealer value instead of private party value. which is why he is asking so much more.

Factory warranty on a 98??? Do some math here, people. Honda's warranty only covers 3 years or 36k miles, whichever occurs first. So the warranty on any 98 would be expired by now, regardless of mileage. And as far as I know, Honda did not offer any 'factory extended' warranty, either. All extended warranties are offered through third party vendors.
