Motor sitting at 3000RPM at start up?CEL what is it? HELP ME PLEASE PLEASE

Help me out whats a CEl They advised me To check it and i have no idea what it is... btw my rpm is still sitting at 3000 rpm what can it be 1992 integra LS b18b1 witha stupid No.2 Control box.. only year that has it evidently i dunno what to do help me out

I don't know the details for your year, but CEL is the check-engine light. You jumper a connection (next to glovebox in'95), then turn on your ignition; the CEL will blink out a code, then you look it up to see what system is screwing up.

Older ones had an LED on the ECM itself - pull back the carpeting & watch it blink...
