I suggest not using windex since the ammonia is not good for your windows. I would use a Tint glue remover which you can buy locally. Also, expect alot of elbow grease and a mess when your done. Also, getting 100% of the tint glue off will be a challenge. I did it to 4 windows on my accord and it took a little less than an hour a window.

Are you positive about that? I heard that the ammonia will eat the tint, which in this case is a good thing.

For the rear window with defrost lines I would highly recommend the following method. Get a hold of some Simple Green household cleaner in lieu of ammonia. This stuff doesnt smell bad and works well imo. Just spray the window and cover it with a black trashbag and let it soak in the sun. The trashbag is to keep the tint wet and soak into the glue and absorb the heat from the sun. This method works even if you have already peeled off the first layer of tint. Use a razor blade to get the peeling started and try to get big strip going. I got my rear tint off in 3 big pieces. After the tint is removed use some 3M adhesive remover or goo gone to get rid of the remaining glue residue.
ammonia is a good thing for removing tint. not good for cleaning tinted windows... makes a nice translucent haze.

ok the easiest way to take off tint on the rear window and not damage the defroster is STEEL WOOL! trust me i did it to my teg and didnt damage the defrost lines. makes it a whole lot easier and faster than using a razor blade. get ready to get down n dirty w/ all the adhesive that will be comin off
whoops i forgot to add. after u peel off the tint, soak the remaining adhesive in window cleaner. i have this foam window cleaner which is good because it doesnt run or drip like windex. after a minute or two, then you use the steel wool and lightly rub the adhesive away. have fun
I thikn the easist way to take tint off is to take it to a tint shop and pay them to do it its to much work especially for the rear window and worring aboutt he stupid defrost lines breaking and u dont wantt hose to break if u like ur windows none frosty

absolutely right..same way we did it at this detailing shop i worked for...but instead of windex we used dish detergent and water in a spray bottle..makes a more slippery mix to avoid scratching the defroster lines in the back window..but good for the rest also...good luck

This is the easiest way to do it IMO.
Get amonia and warm it up. Spray it on the window and put a trash bag behind it and let it sit.
Then take a blow dryer /heat gun and heat up the outside glass really good. (simulates sun heat in 1/2 the time)
Then use a blunt rubber object to push/scrape the tint. If you did it right and got the window hot enough. The adhesive should've broke down to nothing, and you can peel the entire sheet off with one pull.

I remove tint EVERY day. Just peel it off, then spray some windex on it and let it sit for a minute or two then use a razor blade scraper and scrape it off. After that use a scotch guard pad to give it an extra cleaning. Do NOT scrape your rear window because it has the defogger which will get owned if it is cut. To do the rear just remove the tint and you will have to get tint glue remover and let that stuff soak in, preferably in the sunlight.
daym taking off the tint was easy! i sprayed it was windex pelled the tint away, that took around 1 hour for the front 2 windows. and then the glue was real easy, sprayed more windex and used the back of a scotch sponge and just rubbed and wip, that took around 5 mins each.
thanks for all the hlep guys.
