I was just wonderin how do all you guys pay for all your mods? Do you guys take out loans or pay cash or what? I was just wonderin.

 

HS student working 30 hours a week on top of school....Dont have much of a social life, but sure do love my car!! Payed for my car and all its mods myself!

honestly man, i am a college student..and its hard for me to do mods on my car lol. When I do have money, it all goes to my mods...yikes, I gotta learn to save.

 

I worked, which payed for all my mods. but now i'm unemployed, so no more mods for awhile.

 

Fresh outta h.s. working around 20-35 hrs a week but now im switching jobs for full time so I'll earn more $ which = more mods

i am in college. part time job pays for what i have, it just takes alot of saving. i just make sure that i calculate everything out as carefully as possible.

some people on here have amazing cars though, i seriously wonder sometimes how and why also.

 

well i would think that a lot of guys/girls on here are actually not as young as some of us and are married with real good paying careers as for us young folk im only 22 i work for state farm corporate and only make 15 bux an hour. let me tell you this is one expensive sport. if i blow one more motor in a month period i QUIT!!!!!

 

i bought my house first. then i got home equity. he hee. plus 3 jobs and my own shop.

 

Oh yeah...And during the summer...i work 2 jobs, and have almost 3k in the bank now also!!! Living at home helps a ton!

 

well don't tell anyone this, BUT me and my friends hijack 18 wheelers full of audio goods and sell them on the black market. Ya herd?!

I work 25 hrs a week...

My dad thinks I sell drugs because I'm always buying new parts, but it's really because I don't waste my money on stuff like going to the movies or buying stuff that I won't have anything to show for later. I'll spend large amounts of money on stereo equipment, car stuff, but nothing on little things like candy or toys.

I go to college full time, (UC berkeley) and I work part time. Must say, this is the absolute poorest time for me in the year. (Finals = no work, plus end of the year means all of savings is gone.) I get my money through working my butt off during the summer to save for the rough times of school. Luckily I live at home, and that shoulders most of the financial burdens. My freind goes to school full time at santa cruz, and the poor bastard can't do anything to his car but drive it, i'm lucky enough to be able to spend some money on mods. (also I have a rare case, my little brother and i share cars, so he helps me with the mods as well. Great situation! My freinds wish they had him. )
There are some cars on the board that are absolutely gorgeous, I really don't know how they afford it all. ( can't wait till he starts working full time to support his hobby.)

 

I'm in college full time, and am building 2 cars at the same time; my 90 integra for me, and my 2000 civic for my sister. I bought the civic as a beater so I can work on the teg. My sister is 14, so in 2 years I'll give her the civic and she can do the swap on it

 

overtime = time and a half = no life but a fast hybrid civic hatch = ME !

nope, i work at my dad's shop about 72 hours a week, and my mom is the one who hands me the money everymonth, it sucks to work in a family business..

 

i'm probably really young compared to you guys. But i'm 16 and i make about almost 200 dollars a month. i babysit every weekend for $20 and i get 50 dollars allowance every 2 weeks. all i do is chores and be a good boy. but sometimes when i have the money sitting in my wallet i get tempeted to buy something, it's hard for me to save money.

anyway for the motor I am building I am finding that doing a lot of talking to people that are also into hondas and what not you learn of other people who might have a particular part your lookin for or whatever and you can end up with some deals on parts rather than ordering them and having them shipped.

I am probaby going to end up with a prelude for my H22 swap that was wrecked over a year ago and is sitting in someones yard for under a grand complete swap minus what has already been stripped off the car (guage cluster, tail lights, various other ****) compair that to ordering it off of HMO

I am finding that just getting to know people and talking to the best way to afford this stuff
