Default AutoX/SRT-4

Has anyone had a chance to autox or roadrace the new SRT-4? Just wanted to know how the tegs are holdin' up.

D Stock. An SRT-4 did quite well at One Lap this year.

and it was pushing a LOT of power and Dodge brought in semi-pro drivers...which didn't hurt either.

I rode in one during a local autocross in bone stock form with a decent driver. It'll be fun (in that "damn, this thing's got some *****!" sorta way), but I don't think you're going to see any owners wearing a Jacket after Topeka...

Basic run down of coming out of a slow speed (low 2nd gear) turn around...

turn....apply throttle.....watch tach reach redline.....feel tires try and catch up....tires ABOUT to catch up.... enter next manuever....

The driver was being heavy footed, but it was still pretty silly. I had a big grin on my face the entire time.

OT: Lookin' at D stock, how the hell did the 04 Maxima and G35 Sedan end up in D stock? The 03 Maxima had the same engine (in G stock), no?

I also don't think we'll see it taking 1st any time soon in autox. It would have a much batter chance in a slower class, or in DS but with at least an lsd. I think it is much better suited on a racetrack the way it is now.

I know this probably isn't my place to say, but the new maxima is hideous. The two body styles before it were quite nice, but I drove by one the other day, and it was like poo sitting in the middle of the road.

What did they do to that thing?

I want to drive one so badly.

Those things are so cool. Some autmotive rag dyno'd one at 238hp at the crank

Supposedly the brakes are damn good too. I don't know if there's ever been anything this good under $20K.

In auto-X, I suck since I've only been to a handful, yet I was still 5 seconds faster than an SRT-4 on a 51 second auto-X course last week. The SRT-4 driver had similar experience.

I assume 5 seconds is quite a difference.

--edit, I was in an 01 Integra R with H&R sports if that matters in the discussion.
