After two days of frustration trying to get a set of Victoracers for the weekend, an "unnamed" source hooked me up with some "prototype" ECSTAS. (Victoracer replacement) I think they have been on sale in Europe and Asia for a while.

They are shaved (not the greatest for AutoX) and have a little track time on them, buy hey....I was in a pinch and they were cheap.

I will post a review after this weekends double header, and Subura is letting people run a WRX on the course after the events....I'm signed up.

I'll let you know if I can make it out there...but its not looking good.

As for me running in X class, I did it so I could take photos and video of my fellow GS racers. I maintain the Neohio SCCA website, and also take photos during my work assignment. I never get photos/videos of the other cars in GS, so just decided to run out of class and just call it X class. It kinda sucked though because I ran first thing in the morning and we got rained on - if I would have run GS I would have had a nice dry course

yeah, i want to know that also.....are they stell belt like the old v700 or are they fiberglass belt like the hoosier? how heavy are they? thanks for any info.

 

FWIW, the Ecsta is NOT replacing the Victoracer. According to a source from the TireRack, Kumho will produce both tires. Too bad the Ecsta got backed up until September. We may have to actually buy Hoosiers.

I don't think we'll be going to Nat'ls. How about you? Will there be a yellow R in SM at Topeka?

I'm not even sure how many more races we'll get to. We're running a regional on 7/21. I get really busy with work in Aug. and Sept. Probably won't make it to another CENDiv this season. Bummer.
