Default RPM at 80MPH in 5th gear on a 4th gen Vtec

Just wondering what your rpm is at when you're in 5th at 80mph. I have a 93 VTEC and i'm at 4200 rpms. I think this is high?

i dont think its trick as much as the stock tach is incorrect, look at a VAFC , it much more accurate.later

Stock tach is pretty accurate until you get into higher rpms.

4800 rpm @ 80 mph with 16" rims and 40 series tires. Not a good long distance cruiser unless you're deaf.

Great gear ratio for the track though.

its normal. 4gen VTECs are geared really high. The car really could stand to use a 6th gear in my opinion...

w00h00 even though I drive a 5th gen, I have a 4th gen JDM tranny. I am hitting just about 3700-4000 at 80MPH.

If I remember correctly I'm at 4,000 rpm at 75 mph. Not sure what that'd be at 80 mph.
