Default Power Antenna Switch

Does anyone know what it takes to make a switch to turn the antenna off while playing cd's? I know its a simple switch, but all I need to do is snip the antenna wire from the harness and attach it to each side correct? Can anyone help me out? IM going to radio shack to pick up some switches right now. Thanks.

Well just got finished with the switch. Everything went well. The switch works good, I got it from radio shack. I think if i ever do this again, im going to cut the antenna wire further back from the head of the wiring harness. It looks rather hideous, i didnt have time to mount the switch so i just left it hanging out from the ash tray. I was planning on taking out my lighter because i dont smoke, but rembered that i have a cell phone Anyways, if you guys have questions just ask me.

I wanted to do something about it but once my alpine head went in, the antenna only goes up when listening to the radio.

i was kinda shady about cutting wires from the OEM harness but i did it anyways. If i ever replace the head unit i'll prob end up splicing and cutting more wires. I'll probably end up just getting a small piece and reconnecting the two cut pieces. Anyways, the switch works good, now to find a mounting place.
