Default I give up, I can't even get my tranny off!!! HELP!!

I am so pissed off Screw my B18c and screw having a Hybrid EG. I can't even get the damn tranny off the engine to put the engine on my stand. I go to drain the oil and missed the bucket cause the engine moved. I think my swap is messed up too, when I took the oil drain plut out it had been put in with silicone sealant around it, I could smell it on the plug. Aslo there is oil all over the bottom and around the side of the oil pan, which makes me think I need a new gasket. Anyway if anyone has any suggestions on the tranny, please HELP!!

Well I'm not sure how the b18c trannys are but with my d16 one after taking the bolts out it came off about 2 inches, just past the dowel pins and was kinda stuck so I just pulled really hard while rotating it and it popped off. Kinda hard wrestling with a 50lb or so tranny but it worked.

Again I'm not sure if our trannys are the same but mine had a bolt that went from the engine side into the tranny, right above the diff. If your 100% sure you got all the bolts perhaps try a small chisel and tap it with a hammer to try and separate it? I'm pretty sure you've just missed a bolt somehow, but agian, cable/hydro can be completely diff...

It's the starter. Once you've get that off, the tranny will come off....

I'll bet this is the problem. If the engine is sitting on the oil pan, you may not even realize the stiffereners are there.

Seriously, don't go any further without a manual.

i got the stiffiner brakets. I had the engine up in the air, so it has to be the starter. Anyone know where I can download the manual?

Hhahahaha, oh wow, this is like deja vu for me... how many times did I almost give up when I got stuck on small silly things like this? Trust me the tranny will come off eventually... like people said it's probably the starter. Heheheh... once I removed the starter I forgot to remove the lower clutch plate cover and then the tranny would come away from the engine but the cover would catch on the flywheel... it literally took me 2 days to get the thing off there

On 2 occasions I could not get the ****** off, and looked at it for a half hour thinking I forgot a bolt.. but couldn't find it. Then I'll do somthing like drop a wrench and it will land next to the bolt I forgot that I've been looking at the whole time.

I don`t understand, you said you did`nt take the starter off...that`s your problem right there. You don`t need a manual to drop a trans, it`s cake, really. it will free up and you twist it and move it a few times and it drops, it aint brain surgery......

once you get everything off use a rubber mallet hit around where the tranny meets the block.

LoL
If he does`nt have it off yet he`s got bigger problems...I love it when people come on the board and ask a question and never come back and update the rest of us on what exactly the problem was(not that we couild`nt figure it out in this case, but the other morons on this board ).
