Hello. I'm going to look at a b18b engine, trans, axels, etc. for a swap i'm putting into a 2000CX. What should i look for to make sure that everything is legit? For example, what should i look for in the engine? What about the trans? What type of wear should be on the axels? Etc. Please, let me know. Thanks in advance.

i dunno where you live but some areas wont allow you to swap in an engine older than your car, so you may want to check the date and get papers.

if it's from a wrecker they will probably give you 3 months warranty so no worries there. if private i would be looking accident damage. cracked block at front ac braket, i'd also pull the timing cover and make sure the drivers side mount isnt ripped out there too. maybe do a comp test. try to get oe axles, easiest way is to look at the boots and bands.

just the basic stuff, look for leaks, make sure the oil is oil. make sure they dont give you an older cable trans.

maybe take somebody that knows swaps.
