Default That annoying beeping when doors are opened...I want it GONE-How?

Ok, so the indicator beeping telling you the doors are open is pissing me off, I don`t want it anymore, I pulled the fuse, but with it goes the dome light, and I need a lil light, ya know?

In my VW there was a plug sorta thing near the interior fuse box, but I can`t seem to find the one in my 93hatch???

Does anyone know where this is?

Take the plastic off of your steering colum.

There is a switch thing with 2 thin gauge wires going to it, screwed into the side of the lock cylender.

Unscrew it, and let it hang around in there... Or cut the wires and tape them up.

No more beeping ****.

Disconnect the plug under the seat.

I know this beeping sound you talk about. what I did was I just traced the sound. it's near the driver side dead foot pedal and a little up towards the pgmfi box. that little siren(looks like a regular relay box) just connect up to the lighting wire for the interior light. just disconnect the wire going to it and it will stop that annoying sound. I was doing my alarm when I notice where the beeping was coming from.

well im gona say im not sure that i know the answer.

but ill take a stab at it....

on the body side door frame where the hoop latch is, underneath that there is a black button looking thing, when the door is open it closes a circut causing the beeping to start.....and if that is the cause which i beleive it is....

all you need to well 2 things....

1. try removing the switch by pulling the black condom off the button and unscrewing it....try this one first cause it maybe the easiest, disconnect of the the wires, try taking off the ground side wire(which im sorry to say i dont know which one that is) se if that stops it....this will work if the switch is button out to close the switch.

2. remove the switch again, and try connecting both the wires to each other....this will work if the switch is a open switch meaning its powered all the time and currrent is running from power to ground cause the switch is closed if the door is closed.

now the next thing is that im not sure what will happen to the dome light if you do this

OK my post doesnt work, cause i just tried it, and my switch is a one wire....and its a grounded system with a screw holding the switch to the body

do the steering colum one it should work

Ha ha, sorry mang, been soooo busy with school.

Although I saw your car at Paseo Colorado a couple weeks ago.
Haven't been to the meeting spot in a while. Well, not since that one night actually.

Geez, school man. So much **** going on.

We went to Bodega, the wine bar for this girls B-day, what a great time! You should check it out, a ton of HOTT women and a few celebrities stop in from time to time also...we saw J-lo once, apparently her dad lives in one of the appartments above...for $3500 a month!

I disconneted that plug under the seat a long time ago, all it does is turn off the seatbelt light in the cluster when you arent wearing your seatbelt.

If you want the beeping to stop when you have the door open and the key in the ignition, just disconnect the "beeper" under the dash. It shouldn't be hard to find.

on the drivers side, on the inside next to the door switch, you can unplug (not cut wires) the sensor to the switch, it will no longer beep when the door is open. BUT your dome light wont come on when you open the door either
