attn WRX owners: Hks downpipe good?

If your looking for aftermarket up, center, down pipes for a REX look for something that is designed like stock, with a flex pipe. I've heard the HKS doesn't really perform that well. Minimal gains, compared to the other more expensive ones. Perrin is a good brand.
THanks. I didnt think they were so good cause no one had it. I've seen many people with vishnu and godspeed.
My friend that has had a wrx for awhile says vishnu is good. He has a massive 4" dp. Not sure if its by them or not but it looks like a anaconda!!

the HKS DP is a good piece for the money.
it gets rid of two cats thus increasing some performance like any exh piping would do.
pros: low cost, ease of install, nice gains,
cons: no bell mouth design, will throw CEL, may not give the big jump in performance if ur looking for more power ie bigger turbo.
my recomendation: TurboXS stealth back. includes 4in bellmouth design which tapers to 3" after the first bend down to 2.5" to bolt up to ur stock axle back.
great performance, slightly expensive (less than 7 bills), very quiet and stock looking, will throw CEL.
this is what i have.
hope u asked this same question on http://www.nasioc.com too.

I'm just looking for a dp that is relatively cheap and doesnt throw a cel.
I think i read somewhere that godspeed doesnt throw a cel. I'll have to look into that.

It continues because of an exhaust and dp?

HKS is a decent downpipe. What I have found the main problem to be with the stock downpipe on WRX's besides the two cats and shitty piping is that they leave no room for the wastegate to breath. Look into something that separates both the waste gate and turbine side rather then haveing the wastegate smack into a wall and then travel 90 degrees. Perrin makes one like this that is excellent. My friend uses it on his. Vishnu's newest generation does the same, their old one didn't. The turbo xs kinda does this. That is why the mouth is 4" so it's all one, it just doesn't use separate tubes like the others. Good luck.
The HKS is the best bang for the buck DP. its the cheapest and still is good quality. it all depends on if you are trying to extract every last Hp from each component. otherwise buy the hks dp and spend the 250 youll save somewhere else to make more hp. By the way, i have the hks for 179.00 and the godspeed for 400 in stock ready to ship.

Too bad you don't have access to Japan spec parts because Bozz Speed, Jun and HKS Kansai service have much better dp's than HKS Tokyo.

i find it flattering that people trust this site so much that they come here with questions about non-honda related cars. and as you can see, plenty of people here own hondas and wrx's, including myself. ask away.
a lot of people seem to really like the turbo xs stuff. they have some nice packages as well.
