upper mount
I tried to get the upper mount out of my 98 civic but failed,,, took the 3 bolts out, the top nut, and jacked up on the lower mount and the whole car kept lifting.. what am i doing wrong???

If your referring to the lower AC bracket mount then you need to remove it. It is bolted to the underside of the driver side framerail & prevents the engine from over torqueing. That bracket will not allow you to lift up on the engine without moving the whole car. Just look at all 5 mounts & you'll understand,if not then you shouldn't be working on cars.
you need to disconnect the torque mount/ac bracket thing. That is what is lifting your car.
EDIT. Actually, just disconnet the bracket that is held on my two bolts that the top nut was on. The 2 bolts bolt it down to the bracket under the timing belt cover.

yea....thats what we were gonna do but didn't have a big enough deep socket.
Just gonna take it to a friend and have him slap it on for me
This wouldn't be a problem if Honda hadn't broken it in the first place!!! argghh
