what is the diff between the bottom end of a z6, y8, and y7?
i am thinkin about buyin this swap from this guy i know and its a d16y7. im going to put my z6 head and intake manifold and stuff on there and put it in my 94 ex. im also gonna use the tranny from my z6. he is also gonna port the head and tb for me all for 300 bucks.

Same liter block.
Same pistons from what I believe.

The rod-stroke ratio might be a little different. Basicly their very simular.

i know theyre they same L, but what i would like to know is if the only difference between them is that the y8 is vtec and the y7 is not and if i can put the z6 head on the y7 bottom end.

ill be running everything out of my 94 ex except for the z6 bottom end. the reason why i am thnkin bout doin the mini me thing is bc i dont have enough cash right now to do a rebuild on the z6. ill probly end up building up the bottom end of the y7 later. is this a good idea or should i just wait till i have enough money to rebuild all of the z6?

already did. which is why im askin this question. nobody on there had the same stuff goin into it and there werent any solid answers that i saw.

 

somebody has to know the difference.
