OT: Cleaning glass....
I cannot get my windows clean on my Teg! This is so frustration! I've tried Rain-X (This product sucks) and my mom suggested a Corn Starch/Fabric softner concoction that didn't work well either. My current solution is Windex and paper towels....What do oyu guys find works well?

Outside, soap and water.
Inside, windex and paper towel or newspaper.
Rainex is good you just need to use it right. I assume you have streaking and a haze on the exterior due to the rainex. Dampen a cotton cloth or paper towel and buff out the haze. Works like a charm.

A parked next to a sprinkler and I got hard water ALL over the windows, and then it sat in the sun for 5 hours. That **** was on there.. I used a bunch of windex and that wasn't working.
So at least for the outside, soap and water, and a TON of scrubbing did the trick. It helped when it rained too, it got a lot of the little stuff off..

After a throrough car wash, use clean, dry terry cloths...and nothing else.
If you don't use any liquid solutions, there will be nothing to clean off in the first place.
Just make sure your towels are clean and dry.

isnt rain X a rain repellant? i though you wanted your windows clean? maybe they make a cleaner, anyways, theres this thing from Kragens, Pep Boys etc.... which cleans the **** out of your windows. i forgot what it was called but its in a small cylinderical bottle and it says that it takes bugs, road tar, silicon, and water spots off. hmm i think it was called winshield stripper or window stripper. i no its something stripper. its really good. i hope you can find a bottle.

i got this stuff at Meijer. it's a windsheild cleaner. it comes in a tube, and has a blue "abrasive" compound inside. i used it on all my outside windows, and holy beejesus did that stuff work!
i takes off tar/deposits/overspray/etc....it looked like new glass. you apply it just like waxing a car.
also, in desperate times, pour a can of coke down the windsheild and wash off. it eats through all that crap too. just make sure you rinse it off your paint!

when u use the newspaper to wash the inside use it like a squeegee(sp?), fold the nespaper into a small square and after using windex and paper towels to clean the window spray some more windex on the window, then use the edge of the newspaper and press down hard making the newspaper act as a squeegee across the window, always does a nice job for me, later
hey again,
yea that thing i was talkin about earlier is called "glass stripper" it works the same way as "Meijer" kevbatch mentioned earlier. really really good stuff.

Ah, you beat me to it! I was gonna say toothpaste too. Then again, I learned that from you in the first place, Jeff.
saw this on American Classics on Speedvision - try to use a product named "BAR CLEANER'S FRIEND" or something like that not so sure with the name. I know Wal-Mart has them. I'll follow up on the name. That's for the outside window.
BAR KEEPERS FRIEND!!! I had the same problem. I would clean my windows but the water marks would still leave little "ghosts" that came back. I use bar keepers friend on an old wax applicator sponge. It works great. Just make sure you do not get any on the paint. It will scratch and strip the wax. Then follow up with Rain-X to seal the glass. It works great for me.
For the interior and exterior touch up I use automotive foam glass cleaner from Auto Zone. I think it's made by Coastal.
