ABS Code: 6-4
Fail Relay problem stated in the service manual. main 6 sub 4 (fail relay)
the light came on the other day out of nowhere and I never had this kind of problem before (ABS light).
So I checked the code and checked the wiring (black n green) on the fail relay and they all seem to be okay. For some reason the light just won't go away no matter how many miles or times I restart my car etc.
Then all of sudden the light disappeared so I thought maybe it was okay again til I realized the light came back on after couple drives. The light comes up as I put the key into the ignition and click twice and it would stay there til I turn off the car.
any ideas?
thanks

I don't have much experience with this but I'll try to help. If you don't get a worthy response here, might want to try the Tech forum.
When you say 6-4, do you mean that is the code pulled from jumping the two wires together and reading the flashes?

6-4 (source from the 1994 Acura Service Manual)
6 = Main code
4 = Sub code
That's what it says and at the shops or the dealer they call it 6.4relay or something. Confusing.
I checked the fuses and they all seem to be OK. Only place I wouldn't reach or try to reach is the ABS ecu behind passenger and right side of the rear passenger seat. cause I do not want to mess around with it too much. I stopped messing around with it after the check up on the Fail Relays (look like a jumper cable when you put those 2 together).
anyway, no shops know why and i'm not going to have my car sit at the dealer cause the job is expensive and they tend to drive the car for a joyride.
even at this moment I'm still walkin around my car figuring out while typing.. argh

arghhh I hate this!
Just when I thought my car is finally done after my new tires and clutch installed, the ABS came on out of NOWHERE! I hate my car now. Look at this setup and tell me what else is there I can do to it.

First how do you know if it is code 6-4?
Second, try this procedure:

friend let me borrow his snap-on electronic sensor reader. I stuck that thing into the ABS sensor underneath the AIRBAG (green harness) and start up the car and it'll tell me the codes. then count the flashes.
that's about it
that's about it
