I'm just concerned with some general aspects.
If I wanted to swap a different engine (not an H series) into a prelude, what kinds of concerns should I consider and address?
Please don't flame. I am not asking something like, "is it possible to convert my prelude to RWD using a Skyline engine?"
I am just curious of the real issues that are involved in deciding if something is possible and if it is practical. Just post any possible problems or complications you can think of that would make swapping some engine other than a Prelude engine into a Prelude.
For example,
Can an engine from a RWD car be used in a FWD car? (not to convert to RWD, AS a FWD engine.) I understand the FR tranny is far too large to use as a FF transmission is used.

any swap is possible if you have the money. its all an issue with mounts and wiring.
for the rear wheel as a front wheel. you just need to find a compatable tranny.

there is so much to a swap that you have to think about. what kind of tranny are you going to use, to make sure the cables reach and connect properly? will the gauge cluster fit... and do you know how to retrace the wiring to connect it to the ecu. mounts are a huge concern, ive already had to use an air chisel and completely tear up my wheel well in order to move a mount. does the wiring for the new engine go through the firewall on the left or right...and which side does the ecu go on.
there is a lot of little things that you have to think about. but, the first response is right, if you have the money, anything is possible. it is a very fun project when you go into it not knowing if it can be done. because once you are done, you have a bad *** machine that no one else has :-)
