battery relocation opinions...
ok i started dropping my transmission yesterday, failed throwout bearing (long story). and whiel i was taking out the battery and tray i decided i'd jsut leav it out when i put everythign back in. so today i went shopping for all the parts i would need to custom fab a battery relocation kit. i picked up 20ft of 0 AWG and 6 AWG (for my stereo) wire at a welding supply store, a battery box and terminals from nappa and went shopping for a fuse, that was teh dificult part. i have always been told your engine requires 2amps for every cubic inch of displacement, sine a h22 is a little less than half the displacement of a 5.0 which is 302cubic inches i estimated we were somewhere around 130 cubic inches, so that woudl dictate a 260amp fuse, i rounded up to 300amps to be safe, still thats car under the battery's potential CCA's. but i could find a fuse over 100amps to save my life, not at lowes not at nappa not auto zone or advanced, nowhere. tomorrow im gonna check at a local stereo place but i have never heard of a stereo that drew more than 100amps, so i kinda doubt they will be able to help me out. anyway point is that i wanted to know what you guys did as far as teh fuse issue went, and any other info that might be helpful.
Not an expert or anything, but I think you should double check the accuracy of your rule of thumb.
300 Amps is quite a bit of electricity.

i think the stock prelude battery has 500 cold cranking amps, now thats alot, i use a GSR with only 300 , and car works fine, im thinking of a battery relocation too, you may not find a fuse that big , you might have to step up to a circuit braker. good luck
You may want to try a electrician supply store. They might have some fuses that where used in some of the older house setups... Might be worth a shot.
I don't know anything about relocating the battery so my question is why do you need a fuse? Is this incase the wire shorts out so it won't blow the battery up? If that's not the reason then why would you need one when you could just run it to where it is connected to stock??

i decided what im gonna do. i got the biggest fuse i could find at a stereo shop (200A) and im gonna throw that on the 0awg wire and run it straight to the starter, then 4-6awg to the fuse box and be done with it, it 200A isnt enough, they said they could order a 300A.
