Default aftermarket cams and low-end/midrange torque?

Ok, can someone tell me if toda spec b or c cams lose any low-end/midrange torque or power??

Also the spoon cams? Jun type 3? crower 63403 cams?

I have done a search but i can't seem to find any reliable information.
And please, only people who have had experience with these cams need reply. I don't want bullshit answers from people with stock type r's who think they know what they are talking about!

thank you

sorry about the aggression, i just have the ****'s with cams, I just want to know if getting aftermarket cams are going to benefit me on the street?

I think most people will agree that the TODA spec B's have the best midrange of any cam out there while the high end is similar to the JUN type 3. The B's have huge non-vtec lobes which help the midrange and have a smooth vtec crossover which is something you want in a road racing car.

there was a long post from jeff at atomic that compared all the cams here and showed dynoplots. Go to importreview.com he has many examples of different cams tested there.

B's/C's have midrange. No question about it.

Crower 63403's are mostly top end. Mid range seems a little better then stock.

NO WAY is the x-over the same volume level.....very tuff to hear the X-over point if placed in the right part of power band.

Spec B and C Toda cams lose a bit of power below 3000 RPM but more than make it up in the midrange and top end.

the spec b crossover is only audible by going through a tunnel, or in 5th next to a wall. i was scared that my vtec wasn't working myself after i installed them.....

Is the lack of a changeover sound due to the smaller lobes on the B/C's being so large? Is there just not that much of a difference in the lift/duration between the high and low lobes?

At Willard's request, here is an mpeg of Cliff's car on the dyno. Setup at the time was Toda Spec B, AEM CAI and non-resonated Apex'i N1 exhaust (LOUD). Since I still have the stock cat-back, I can say that there is a slight increase in volume on the VTEC lobe of Spec B's. Not nearly as noticeable as stock though.

Roll that beautiful B footage --> http://itr-nc.com/pages/cliff1.mpg

[edit] F! Should have fixed broken link now. Dammit. [/edit]

Spoon cams need compression to obtain the best results. We did a B18C5 with CTR pistons and Spoon cams (Stock ECU) pulls 193whp and 136 lbs of torque.
