I am planning on having a local fab shop in So. Cal make a 6 point roll bar. Its for a 89' CRX Si. Its going to be chromoly and NHRA Cerified. Its going to be welded in and this shop is known for excellent work. Turnaround time is 1 week. What do you guys think? I am looking at around 800-900 rite now. TIA.

If you know of a shop that can do excellent work let me know. I dont want to have to take the car too far. Thanks.

it is kinda high but what would you guys pay for a place to weld in a pre made roll bar?
800-900 is the right price for a 6 point tig welded in .... Ive tig welded a bunch of civic and crx cages in at our shop and we charge $1000 including the cage "chromoly" Its like our special price if we build the cage from scratch. However yeah $800-$900 is about right if someone just brought me a cage and told me to weld it in.
with a custom fab'd cage, you will be able to get a real tight fit and make it how you want it, unlike if you bought a pre fab and had it welded in.

I have seen my fair share of **** work.. I saw a mild steel 4 point roll bar mig welded in rusty VW notchback. nothing was staight, dude paid 600clams for it...he asked me but i was not familiar with SCCA cages and rules.
do yourself a favor and check somewhere else and ask to see some of there work. check for evenness. your paying good money & 900$. you could pay 600 and get some **** work though

do they even certify roll bars now? NHRA certified only pertains to 9.99 or 135mph or faster? there are other certifieds beyond this though as long as there are atleast 5 points and weld around all joints, seems that is all that track officials look at

I can get the roll bar made for a crx unwelded 6 point for like $450-500 shipped to me. And that is chromoly. I dont know exactly how tite it would be but it is certified as long as a certified tig welder does the labor on it. So you guys are saying that $400 to weld in a cage is a good price? I think that is a little expensive.
But most likely I will just take it to this fab. shop. He does really nice work and is pretty cool. Maybe he will hook me up a little bit more.

CAll S&W racecars. I got a complete 8 point cage made of moly for 450 bucks. Im sure a 6 point bar will be much less. I dont have the number anymore but im sure a google search can find it. Also Dan (LSivic) has the number, i think he bought a bar from them and i know he is close to them.
