a more specific question similar to a thread on here already....
anyone framiliar with the cel code o2 snesor heater malfunction? i heard that is means that the cat is not getting hot enough to read or sumthin? i got a carsound hi flow cat put on this weekend and it happened imediatley after that...the cat is 2 1/4 inch....will this code make me loose power? or throw my ecu into a limp mode?
You're talking about CEL code 41??
The O2 sensor has a built-in electric heater, so it heats up faster than the exhaust would heat it. Otherwise it would take too long to heat up & start working. That code just means the heater circuit isn't working. Could be a blown fuse, could be the heating element is busted, or you have a broken wire somewhere.
It's not related to the cat itself. It's not even related to the actual signal from the O2 sensor itself, just the heater.
